What are people saying about RAISE THE STARS?

- Reached #10 on the iTunes Rock Chart

- Reached #145 on overall iTunes Chart

- Reached #10 on Contemporary Christian Music on AmazonMP3

- #RAISETHESTARS was a trending topic on Twitter

On top of those amazing stats, we had the joy over the past day reading all of your tweets/Facebook posts about the EP as well as iTunes and AmazonMP3 reviews. We’re humbled to say the least. The success of this EP so far is a total surprise and shock to us!

Here are a couple of reviews we read on that we thought we’d share:

"Skyhook graces us again with an amazing showing of melodic rock and the strength of not one but two great lead vocalists. Beautiful harmonies, slamming music, and superb lyrics means a must buy. Not to mention these are a great group of guys. Had the pleasure of providing sound for them and they are terrific on and off stage. Buy this EP!" - livevertical

What a powerful showing for a great group of guys! Skyhook did an excellent job building anticipation for this release, and I was not disappointed. The songwriting is thoughtful and intentional, with lyrics that ring true without the cheese that’s present in so much Christian music nowadays. The musical performances are truly inspiring, with the drum parts (I’m a drummer) clever and solid. The drums sound fantastic, really settled in the mix, but still…well…rocking your face off. The guitars are thick and full, punchy when needed, and almost atmospheric when called for. I was impressed with the keyboards, as well. Good choices on the tones themselves, and the parts don’t beg for attention (like most bands in this genre) but never fail to impress.

And the vocals? Geez.

Buy this album, you won’t regret it. Then see them live, where you can buy their merch. My shirt is purple. I’m totally secure in my manhood…” - Eric The Drummer Guy

Keep the reviews and thoughts coming in! We’ll be posting stuff throughout the week!

Burn out the blackness… RAISE THE STARS.

It’s been a long road… thanks for being so patient with us…

…We can now officially announce that our new EP, Raise The Stars, will be released on April 3rd, 2012. It will be on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Zune, Spotify…wherever you legally get music online. ;)

We couldn’t be more proud of this product, and the reason it’s taken this long for us to get it to you is simply because we wanted to make it the best it could possibly be, and we think we’ve achieved that.

Kickin’ off 2012: New EP, Live Worship DVD, Shows, and Partnership.

Whew! 2011 came and went, and what a year it was! We released our first EP for free, got to play at some amazing shows and conventions, recorded our second and forthcoming EP, filmed our upcoming live worship DVD, and made some awesome new friends. In all of it, we saw God shine through, and that is what we are most proud of.

Looking at this new year, we are saying with confidence that this year is going to be the biggest yet for Skyhook. For starters, we have the new EP that we will be fully unveiling and releasing in the near future. Honestly, we know this sounds cliche, but we really do believe that this EP not only represents who we are as a band, but it also is something that we couldn’t be more proud of. We cannot wait to get it into your hands and ears…and yes…it will be on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Zune, Rhapsody, Spotify, etc…wherever you get your digital music from. The second we can announce more details about it, we won’t hesitate to do so.

The next thing we are excited about this year is releasing our live worship DVD. The video shoot at Life Assembly back in November went extremely well, and we are already starting to review early drafts of it. Needless to say, it’s coming along really well. It’ll be released later this year, and we will definitely talk about it more once we have more to say.

Shows, concerts, conventions, festivals… this is something we are pushing even harder this year to do more. One of our goals for the year is to get out into more states and cities that we have never been to or played at. We’ve already started booking for the next few months, including a little southeast tour during March. If you are reading this, we want you to know that we want to meet you and play at your city/town/state. If you think you can help us get to your area, shoot us an email at We are already working on expanding and taking our live show experience to new heights, and we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve that we think everyone will enjoy.

Finally, we are excited to announce that we are partnering with Soles4Souls. If you are unfamiliar with the organization, Soles4Souls is a charity that distributes shoes to people in need. Giving and blessing the less fortunate is something dear to us, so we are more than excited to begin work with Soles4Souls. We would love if you would check out their site, and consider donating or helping them out. This is just the start. Expect more news about Skyhook and Soles4Souls’ partnership as the year progresses.

This is just the beginning to what we believe to be a milestone year for Skyhook in every way.
