Castle was one of my favorites on Raise the Stars because it was the first song that I’ve written and had the honor of hearing other people sing on. Josh’s and Sarah’s voices truly made that song.

The song is about heartbreak. When one person loves another so much that he or she would give anything for that person to come back into the picture, it is a humbling experience. Illustrating the broken-hearted as a castle, I think, adequately embodies how we feel when we’ve been hurt by love, and I think we’ve all been at that point where we would drop our guard at an instant for just one more encounter with that special person.
